ECCAS
Abk. für Economic Community of Central African States, Communauté Economique des Etats de l'Afrique Centrale (CEEAC), Zentralafrikanische Wirtschaftsgemeinschaft; 1983 gegründet.
- Sitz: Libreville.
- Mitglieder: Äquatorialguinea, Burundi, Gabun, Kamerun, Republik Kongo, Demokratische Republik Kongo, Ruanda, Sao Tomé-Principe, Tschad, Zentralafrikanische Republik, Angola.
- Ziele: Förderung der ökonomischen, sozialen, kulturellen, technischen und wissenschaftlichen Entwicklung der Mitgliedstaaten und des afrikanischen Kontinents durch ⇡ Zollunion. Des Weiteren wird eine gemeinsame Handelspolitik mit dem Ziel des Abbaus aller Beschränkungen des Verkehrs von Personen, Gütern, Dienstleistungen und des Kapitals. Im Januar 2003 beschloss die EU ein finanzielles Abkommen mit ECCAS und ⇡ CEMAC. Beide Organisationen besitzen gleiche Mitgleidsländer und werden somit zu einer Organisation verbunden. Diese hat die Verantwortung über Frieden und Sicherheit der Subregionen.
